The Cheyenne Desert Shields basketball team (North Las Vegas, NV), was overwhelmed 49-12 in Thursday's league battle with the visiting Palo Verde Panthers (Las Vegas, NV)

The Panthers now possess a 8-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Sunrise Mountain for a 4A Sky battle on Monday, January 23. Palo Verde will battle a Miners team coming off a 42-27 league win over Mojave (North Las Vegas, NV). The Miners record now stands at 7-11.

The Desert Shields (3-8) will now prepare for their battle against Western (Las Vegas, NV). The Warriors come into the 4A Sky battle with a 3-10 record. In their last battle, Western was overwhelmed by Las Vegas (Las Vegas, NV), 47-12, in a league battle.
