Pennsylvania High School Basketball - Valley thwarted by Freeport

The Valley Vikings basketball team (New Kensington, PA), was toppled 53-37 in Thursday's league battle with the host Freeport Yellowjackets (Freeport, PA)

The Yellowjackets now possess a 7-10 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to North Catholic for a WPIAL 4A 1 battle on Monday, January 23. Freeport will confront a Trojans team coming off a 49-35 league win over Highlands (Natrona Heights, PA). The Trojans record now stands at 12-2.

The Vikings (1-11) will now prepare for their battle against Derry (Derry, PA). The Trojans come into the WPIAL 4A 1 battle with a 6-9 record. In their last battle, Derry was toppled by Greensburg Salem (Greensburg, PA), 50-18, in a league battle.
