Leola/Frederick Titans (Leola, SD) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Northwestern Area Wildcats (Mellette, SD), 46-38 in a league bout.

With the win, Leola/Frederick upgrades its record to 8-1 on the season. The Titans host Britton-Hecla (Britton, SD) to play the Braves in a B Region 1 bout on Tuesday, January 24. The Braves go into the bout with a record of 5-7.

Next up, the Wildcats play the Groton Tigers (Groton, SD) in a non-league bout, on Monday, January 23. Northwestern Area will attempt to upgrade on its 5-3 season record. The Tigers go into the bout with a 8-3 record after their 45-29 non-league win over Great Plains Lutheran (Watertown, SD).
