Pennsylvania High School Basketball - Yough thwarts Southmoreland

The Yough Cougars (Herminie, PA) basketball knocked off the visiting Southmoreland Scotties (Alverton, PA), 40-29 in Thursday's non-league test.
The Cougars (8-8) will now prepare for their test against Ligonier Valley (Ligonier, PA). The Rams go into the non-league test with a 2-11 record. In their last test, Ligonier Valley went down by Meyersdale (Meyersdale, PA), 31-28, in a non-league test.
The Scotties now own a 1-14 record. They play next when they host Laurel Highlands for a WPIAL 4A 3 test on Monday, January 23. Southmoreland will encounter a Mustangs squad coming off a 75-55 non-league loss to Albert Gallatin (Uniontown, PA). The Mustangs record now stands at 9-7.
