Mater Dei Monarchs (Santa Ana, CA) fans were pleased Thursday as they observed their soccer team hold off the visiting JSerra Catholic Lions (San Juan Capistrano, CA), 2-1 in a league challenge.

Next, the Monarchs confront the Orange Lutheran Lancers (Orange, CA) in a Trinity challenge, on Thursday, January 26. Mater Dei will attempt to better on its 6-3 season record.

The Lions now have a 9-2 record. They take the field next when they host Santa Margarita for a Trinity challenge on Tuesday, January 24. JSerra Catholic will confront a Eagles team coming off a 3-0 league win over Rosary Academy (Fullerton, CA). The Eagles record now stands at 13-0.
