The New Covenant Gryphons (Lynchburg, VA) basketball nipped the visiting Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy Ospreys (Moneta, VA), 37-31 in Thursday's non-league test.
The Gryphons (7-4) will now prepare for their test against Veritas School (Richmond, VA). The Lions go into the non-league test with a 3-3 record. In their last test, Veritas School was tipped by Walsingham Academy (Williamsburg, VA), 51-32, in a non-league outing.
The Ospreys now own a 7-1 record. They play next when they travel to Timberlake Christian for a outing on Monday, January 23. Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy will clash with a Tornadoes squad coming off a 39-29 league win over Westover Christian Academy (Danville, VA). The Tornadoes record now stands at 2-7.
