Bridge City Cardinals (Bridge City, TX) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting West Orange-Stark Mustangs (Orange, TX), 64-62 in a league bout.

With the victory, Bridge City upgrades its record to 19-10 on the campaign. The Cardinals host Silsbee (Silsbee, TX) to play the Tigers in a 4A Region III District 19 bout on Tuesday, January 23. The Tigers come into the bout with a record of 17-9. Silsbee won 75-56 in their recent league bout against Little Cypress-Mauriceville (Orange, TX)

Next up, the Mustangs play the Vidor Pirates (Vidor, TX) in a 4A Region III District 19 bout, on Tuesday, January 23. West Orange-Stark will attempt to upgrade on its 10-8 season record. The Pirates come into the bout with a 14-12 record after their 69-63 league win over Jasper (Jasper, TX).
