The New Bedford Whalers basketball team scored 56 points and held the visiting Brockton Boxers to 43 in the Whalers league triumph on Friday.
The Whalers now sport a 4-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Taunton for a non-league contest on Sunday, January 21. New Bedford will meet a Tigers team coming off a 81-73 league loss to Milford (Milford, MA). The Tigers record now stands at 7-4.
The Boxers (2-8) will now prepare for their contest against North (Worcester, MA). The Polar Bears enter the non-league contest with a 13-0 record. In their last contest, North ran past Doherty Memorial (Worcester, MA), 75-47, in a league contest.
