East Gaston Warriors (Mt. Holly, NC) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Burns Bulldogs (Lawndale, NC), 74-64 in a league bout.

With the victory, East Gaston upgrades its record to 11-6 on the campaign. The Warriors travel to Bessemer City (Bessemer City, NC) to play the Yellow Jackets in a 1A/2A Southern Piedmont bout on Tuesday, January 23. The Yellow Jackets come into the bout with a record of 3-15. Bessemer City lost 50-39 in their recent league bout against Highland Tech (Gastonia, NC)

Next up, the Bulldogs play the Cherryville Ironmen (Cherryville, NC) in a 1A/2A Southern Piedmont bout, on Tuesday, January 23. Burns will attempt to upgrade on its 7-9 season record. The Ironmen come into the bout with a 9-7 record after their 64-55 league win over Highland Tech (Gastonia, NC).
