The Calvin Christian Squires basketball team (Grandville, MI), was overwhelmed 75-53 in Friday's league battle with the host Sparta Spartans (Sparta, MI)

The Spartans now possess a 7-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Kelloggsville for a Ottawa-Kent - Silver battle on Tuesday, January 23. Sparta will battle a Rockets team coming off a 62-46 league loss to Godwin Heights (Wyoming, MI). The Rockets record now stands at 2-9.

The Squires (3-8) will now prepare for their battle against Comstock Park (Comstock Park, MI). The Panthers come into the Ottawa-Kent - Silver battle with a 3-7 record. In their last battle, Comstock Park trounced NorthPointe Christian (Grand Rapids, MI), 44-39, in a league battle.
