Tivy Antlers (Kerrville, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Canyon Cougars (New Braunfels, TX), 63-56 in a league bout.

With the win, Tivy upgrades its record to 14-12 on the season. The Antlers host Seguin (Seguin, TX) to play the Matadors in a 5A Region IV District 26 bout on Tuesday, January 23. The Matadors go into the bout with a record of 12-13. Seguin won 68-59 in their recent league bout against Smithson Valley (Spring Branch, TX)

Next up, the Cougars play the Boerne-Champion Chargers (Boerne, TX) in a 5A Region IV District 26 bout, on Tuesday, January 23. Canyon will attempt to upgrade on its 7-20 season record. The Chargers go into the bout with a 23-4 record after their 41-31 league loss to Veterans Memorial (San Antonio, TX).
