Highland Baptist Christian Bears (New Iberia, LA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Centerville Bulldogs (Centerville, LA), 61-43 in a league bout.

With the win, Highland Baptist Christian upgrades its record to 8-13 on the season. The Bears travel to Central Catholic (Morgan City, LA) to clash with the Eagles in a 1A District 7 bout on Tuesday, January 23. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 12-6. Central Catholic won 77-24 in their recent league bout against Vermilion Catholic (Abbeville, LA)

Next up, the Bulldogs clash with the Covenant Christian Academy Lions (Houma, LA) in a 1A District 7 bout, on Tuesday, January 23. Centerville will attempt to upgrade on its 5-14 season record.
