Riverside Chargers (Cedar Rapids, NE) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Central Valley Cougars (Greeley, NE), 49-34 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Riverside upgrades its record to 8-5 on the season. The Chargers travel to St. Francis (Humphrey, NE) to play the Flyers in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 20. The Flyers go into the bout with a record of 8-4. St. Francis won 69-29 in their recent non-league bout against Burwell (Burwell, NE)

Next up, the Cougars play the Elgin/Pope John Wolfpack (Elgin, NE) in a D1 District 5 bout, on Tuesday, January 23. Central Valley will attempt to upgrade on its 9-4 season record. The Wolfpack go into the bout with a 8-5 record after their 60-39 non-league loss to West Holt (Atkinson, NE).
