Crockett Bulldogs (Crockett, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting New Waverly Bulldogs (New Waverly, TX), 57-43 in a league bout.

With the win, Crockett upgrades its record to 22-5 on the season. The Bulldogs host Anderson-Shiro (Anderson, TX) to play the Fighting Owls in a 3A Region III District 23 bout on Tuesday, January 23. The Fighting Owls go into the bout with a record of 8-14. Anderson-Shiro lost 64-45 in their recent league bout against Tarkington (Cleveland, TX)

Next up, the Bulldogs play the Trinity Tigers (Trinity, TX) in a 3A Region III District 23 bout, on Tuesday, January 23. New Waverly will attempt to upgrade on its 10-16 season record. The Tigers go into the bout with a 13-11 record after their 66-37 league loss to Shepherd (Shepherd, TX).
