Crosby Cougars (Crosby, TX) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Sterling Rangers (Baytown, TX), 65-50 in a league bout.

With the victory, Crosby upgrades its record to 10-14 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to Port Neches-Groves (Port Neches, TX) to play the Indians in a 5A Region III District 17 bout on Tuesday, January 23. The Indians come into the bout with a record of 13-13. Port Neches-Groves lost 53-36 in their recent league bout against Nederland (Nederland, TX)

Next up, the Rangers play the Lee Ganders (Baytown, TX) in a 5A Region III District 17 bout, on Tuesday, January 23. Sterling will attempt to upgrade on its 6-19 season record. The Ganders come into the bout with a 14-12 record after their 50-31 league loss to Barbers Hill (Mt. Belvieu, TX).
