Deer Park Stags (Deer Park, WA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Newport Grizzlies (Newport, WA), 49-45 in a league bout.

With the win, Deer Park upgrades its record to 4-11 on the season. The Stags travel to Freeman (Rockford, WA) to play the Scotties in a 1A Northeast bout on Tuesday, January 23. The Scotties go into the bout with a record of 14-2. Freeman won 101-31 in their recent league bout against Colville (Colville, WA)

Next up, the Grizzlies play the Medical Lake Cardinals (Medical Lake, WA) in a 1A Northeast bout, on Saturday, January 20. Newport will attempt to upgrade on its 1-12 season record. The Cardinals go into the bout with a 3-11 record after their 53-32 league loss to Lakeside (Nine Mile Falls, WA).
