East St. John Wildcats (Reserve, LA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Destrehan Wildcats (Destrehan, LA), 71-59 in a league bout.

With the win, East St. John upgrades its record to 13-8 on the season. The Wildcats host Terrebonne (Houma, LA) to play the Tigers in a 5A District 7 bout on Sunday, January 21. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 16-9.

Next up, the Wildcats play the E.D. White Cardinals (Thibodaux, LA) in a non-league bout, on Monday, January 22. Destrehan will attempt to upgrade on its 0-20 season record. The Cardinals go into the bout with a 9-14 record after their 60-51 league loss to Donaldsonville (Donaldsonville, LA).
