Illinois High School Basketball - Downers Grove South can't hold off Proviso East

The Proviso East Pirates basketball team scored 66 points and held the host Downers Grove South Mustangs to 64 in the Pirates league triumph on Friday.
The Pirates now sport a 10-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Lyons for a non-league contest on Saturday, January 20. Proviso East will battle a Lions team coming off a 48-45 league win over Hinsdale Central (Hinsdale, IL). The Lions record now stands at 6-12.
The Mustangs (11-5) will now prepare for their contest against Metamora (Metamora, IL). The Redbirds enter the non-league contest with a 17-4 record. In their last contest, Metamora nudged Mt. Zion (Mt. Zion, IL), 72-69, in a non-league contest.
