East Davidson Golden Eagles (Thomasville, NC) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting West Davidson Dragons (Lexington, NC), 54-52 in a league bout.

With the victory, East Davidson upgrades its record to 12-5 on the campaign. The Golden Eagles travel to Thomasville (Thomasville, NC) to play the Bulldogs in a 1A/2A Central Carolina bout on Tuesday, January 23. The Bulldogs come into the bout with a record of 7-5.

Next up, the Dragons play the South Davidson Wildcats (Denton, NC) in a 1A/2A Central Carolina bout, on Tuesday, January 23. West Davidson will attempt to upgrade on its 5-11 season record. The Wildcats come into the bout with a 3-13 record after their 67-56 league loss to East Davidson (Thomasville, NC).
