In Friday's non-league match, the host West Holt Huskies basketball team scored a decisive 60-39 triumph over the Elgin/Pope John Wolfpack.

In their next game, the Huskies meet the Boyd County Spartans (Spencer, NE) in a non-league match, on Monday, January 22. West Holt will attempt to better on its 8-6 season record. The Spartans enter the match with a 5-8 record after their 55-42 non-league loss to Elkhorn Valley (Tilden, NE).

With the defeat, Elgin/Pope John moves to 8-5 on the year. The Wolfpack travel to Central Valley (Greeley, NE) to meet the Cougars in a D1 District 5 match on Tuesday, January 23. The Cougars enter the match with a record of 10-4. Central Valley won 45-38 in their recent non-league match against Fullerton (Fullerton, NE)
