North Wilkes Vikings (Hays, NC) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Forbush Falcons (East Bend, NC), 62-48 in a league bout.

With the win, North Wilkes upgrades its record to 8-6 on the season. The Vikings host North Surry (Mount Airy, NC) to clash with the Greyhounds in a 2A Foothills bout on Tuesday, January 23. The Greyhounds go into the bout with a record of 11-4. North Surry won 65-50 in their recent league bout against Surry Central (Dobson, NC)

Next up, the Falcons clash with the Wilkes Central Eagles (Wilkesboro, NC) in a 2A Foothills bout, on Tuesday, January 23. Forbush will attempt to upgrade on its 1-12 season record. The Eagles go into the bout with a 11-6 record after their 77-66 non-league win over East Wilkes (Ronda, NC).
