The Geneva Panthers (Geneva, NY) basketball knocked off the host Newark Reds (Newark, NY), 55-47 in Friday's league test.
The Panthers (7-3) will now prepare for their test against Lyons (Lyons, NY). The Lions go into the non-league test with a 9-1 record. In their last test, Lyons notched a victory over Avon (Avon, NY), 51-45, in a non-league test.
The Reds now own a 10-2 record. They play next when they travel to Wayne for a Section 5 Finger Lakes - East test on Wednesday, January 24. Newark will encounter a Eagles squad coming off a 44-28 league win over Geneva (Geneva, NY). The Eagles record now stands at 9-2.
