Grapeland Sandies (Grapeland, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Leon Cougars (Jewett, TX), 70-46 in a league bout.

The Indians go into the bout with a record of 6-13. Groveton lost 58-45 in their recent league bout against Latexo (Latexo, TX)

In their next game, the Cougars face the Centerville Tigers (Centerville, TX) in a 2A Region III District 20 game, on Tuesday, January 23. Leon will attempt to move on its 5-17 season record. The Tigers enter the game with a 17-5 record after their 57-48 league win over Lovelady (Lovelady, TX).
