The Highland Hornets basketball team scored 41 points and held the host Texas Leadership Charter Academy - Abilene Eagles to 37 in the Hornets league triumph on Friday.

The Hornets now sport a 7-14 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Trent for a 1A Region II District 14 contest on Tuesday, January 23. Highland will meet a Gorillas team coming off a 81-10 league loss to Westbrook (Westbrook, TX). The Gorillas record now stands at 1-9.

The Eagles (8-10) will now prepare for their contest against Hermleigh (Hermleigh, TX). The Cardinals enter the 1A Region II District 14 contest with a 8-15 record. In their last contest, Hermleigh was nudged by Ira (Ira, TX), 51-43, in a league contest.
