Prestonwood Christian Lions (Plano, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting John Paul II Cardinals (Plano, TX), 51-48 in a league bout.

With the win, Prestonwood Christian upgrades its record to 13-12 on the season. The Lions host Bishop Lynch (Dallas, TX) to play the Friars in a TAPPS 6A District 1 bout on Friday, January 26. The Friars go into the bout with a record of 13-12. Bishop Lynch lost 67-58 in their recent league bout against Parish Episcopal (Dallas, TX)

Next up, the Cardinals play the Trinity Christian Trojans (Addison, TX) in a TAPPS 6A District 1 bout, on Tuesday, January 23. John Paul II will attempt to upgrade on its 20-7 season record. The Trojans go into the bout with a 17-10 record after their 57-45 league win over Nolan Catholic (Fort Worth, TX).
