Leominster Blue Devils (Leominster, MA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Wachusett Regional Mountaineers (Holden, MA), 65-55 in a league bout.

With the win, Leominster upgrades its record to 10-2 on the season. The Blue Devils travel to Fitchburg (Fitchburg, MA) to play the Red Raiders in a Midland-Wachusett A bout on Tuesday, January 23. The Red Raiders go into the bout with a record of 5-4. Fitchburg won 71-59 in their recent league bout against Algonquin Regional (Northborough, MA)

Next up, the Mountaineers confront the Shrewsbury Colonials (Shrewsbury, MA) in a Midland-Wachusett A challenge, on Tuesday, January 23. Wachusett Regional will attempt to improve on its 1-8 season record. The Colonials come into the challenge with a 6-3 record after their 52-51 non-league loss to Grafton (Grafton, MA).
