The Masconomet Regional Chieftains basketball team scored 71 points and restricted the visiting Peabody Veterans Memorial Tanners to 61 in the Chieftains league victory on Friday.

The Chieftains now sport a 5-4 record. They put it on the line next when they host Swampscott for a non-league contest on Monday, January 22. Masconomet Regional will battle a Big Blue team coming off a 70-56 league win over Saugus (Saugus, MA). The Big Blue record now stands at 7-4.

The Tanners (8-2) will now prepare for their contest against Beverly (Beverly, MA). The Panthers come into the Northeastern - Large contest with a 5-6 record.
