In Friday's non-league outing, the Southwestern Piasa Birds (Piasa, IL) basketball squad edged the visiting North Mac Panthers (Virden, IL), by a count of 43-41.
The Piasa Birds (15-7) will now prepare for their outing against North Greene (White Hall, IL). The Spartans go into the non-league outing with a 4-12 record.
The Panthers now hold a 7-12 record. They play next when they travel to West Central co-op [Winchester-Bluffs] for a non-league outing on Tuesday, January 23. North Mac will clash with a Cougars squad coming off a 41-30 non-league loss to Principia (St. Louis, MO). The Cougars record now stands at 21-3.
