In Friday's league outing, the Pell City Panthers (Pell City, AL) basketball squad edged the visiting Shades Valley Mounties (Birmingham, AL), by a count of 71-67.
The Panthers (9-10) will now prepare for their outing against Moody (Moody, AL). The Blue Devils go into the non-league outing with a 5-16 record. In their last outing, Moody was tipped by Leeds (Leeds, AL), 54-40, in a league outing.
The Mounties now hold a 13-11 record. They play next when they host Mountain Brook for a 6A Area 10 outing on Tuesday, January 23. Shades Valley will clash with a Spartans squad coming off a 64-43 league win over Woodlawn (Birmingham, AL). The Spartans record now stands at 19-6.
