South Spartans (Torrance, CA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting West Warriors (Torrance, CA), 63-49 in a league bout.

With the win, South upgrades its record to 14-10 on the season. The Spartans host North (Torrance, CA) to clash with the Saxons in a Pioneer bout on Monday, January 22. The Saxons go into the bout with a record of 17-7. North won 61-43 in their recent league bout against Torrance (Torrance, CA)

Next up, the Warriors clash with the Lawndale Cardinals (Lawndale, CA) in a Pioneer challenge, on Monday, January 22. West will attempt to improve on its 14-9 season record. The Cardinals come into the challenge with a 5-16 record after their 73-55 league loss to El Segundo (El Segundo, CA).
