The West Rusk Raiders basketball team (New London, TX), was nudged 54-49 in Friday's league battle with the host Waskom Wildcats (Waskom, TX)

The Wildcats now possess a 8-18 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Arp for a 3A Region II District 16 battle on Tuesday, January 23. Waskom will confront a Tigers team coming off a 66-61 league win over Elysian Fields (Elysian Fields, TX). The Tigers record now stands at 10-6.

The Raiders (4-12) will now prepare for their battle against Elysian Fields (Elysian Fields, TX). The Yellowjackets come into the 3A Region II District 16 battle with a 9-7 record. In their last battle, Elysian Fields was nudged by Arp (Arp, TX), 66-61, in a league battle.
