Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Lanier Longhorns (Sugar Hill, GA) and the visiting Apalachee Wildcats (Winder, GA), saw Lanier's basketball squad knock off Apalachee by a count of 48-32.

With the victory, Lanier upgrades its record to 9-9 on the campaign. The Longhorns travel to North Gwinnett (Suwanee, GA) to play the Bulldogs in a non-league challenge on Saturday, January 20. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a record of 9-9. North Gwinnett won 60-32 in their recent league challenge against Duluth (Duluth, GA)

Next up, the Wildcats play the Jackson County Panthers (Jefferson, GA) in a AAAAAA Region 8 challenge, on Tuesday, January 23. Apalachee will attempt to upgrade on its 8-11 season record. The Panthers come into the challenge with a 4-13 record after their 54-47 league win over Gainesville (Gainesville, GA).
