Appalachian Eagles (Oneonta, AL) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Ragland Purple Devils (Ragland, AL), 56-26 in a league bout.

With the win, Appalachian upgrades its record to 11-9 on the season. The Eagles travel to Victory Christian (Pell City, AL) to play the Lions in a 1A Area 10 bout on Saturday, January 20. The Lions go into the bout with a record of 15-7. Victory Christian lost 48-45 in their recent league bout against Jefferson Christian Academy (Birmingham, AL)

Next up, the Purple Devils play the Pleasant Valley Raiders (Jacksonville, AL) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 23. Ragland will attempt to upgrade on its 0-18 season record. The Raiders go into the bout with a 2-13 record after their 53-29 non-league loss to Cedar Bluff (Cedar Bluff, AL).
