Calhoun Tigers (Letohatchee, AL) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Central Lions (Hayneville, AL), 35-19 in a league bout.

With the win, Calhoun upgrades its record to 8-10 on the season. The Tigers host Luverne (Luverne, AL) to play the Tigers in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 23. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 12-6. Luverne won 55-20 in their recent league bout against Highland Home (Highland Home, AL)

Next up, the Lions play the Ellwood Christian Eagles (Selma, AL) in a 1A Area 5 bout, on Monday, January 22. Central will attempt to upgrade on its 0-12 season record. The Eagles go into the bout with a 3-12 record after their 63-37 non-league loss to Tallassee (Tallassee, AL).
