The Columbus Cardinals basketball team scored 53 points and restricted the visiting Rice Consolidated Raiders to 25 in the Cardinals league victory on Friday.

The Cardinals now sport a 19-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Yoakum for a 3A Region IV District 25 contest on Tuesday, January 23. Columbus will battle a Bulldogs team coming off a 53-50 league win over Industrial (Vanderbilt, TX). The Bulldogs record now stands at 13-12.

The Raiders (3-20) will now prepare for their contest against Hallettsville (Hallettsville, TX). The Brahmas come into the 3A Region IV District 25 contest with a 26-5 record. In their last contest, Hallettsville overwhelmed Edna (Edna, TX), 63-40, in a league bout.
