Fairmont Cardinals (Fairmont, MN) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Waseca Bluejays (Waseca, MN), 56-38 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Fairmont upgrades its record to 10-7 on the season. The Cardinals travel to St. Peter (St. Peter, MN) to clash with the Saints in a non-league bout on Monday, January 22. The Saints go into the bout with a record of 13-1. St. Peter won 74-71 in their recent league bout against New Ulm (New Ulm, MN)

Next up, the Bluejays clash with the St. Clair Cyclones (St. Clair, MN) in a AA Section 2 bout, on Saturday, January 20. Waseca will attempt to upgrade on its 5-12 season record. The Cyclones go into the bout with a 9-6 record after their 64-40 non-league win over Cleveland (Cleveland, MN).
