Green Mountain Chieftains (Chester, VT) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Woodstock Wasps (Woodstock, VT), 49-29 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Green Mountain upgrades its record to 1-8 on the season. The Chieftains host White River Valley (Royalton, VT) to clash with the Wildcats in a CVL bout on Wednesday, January 24. The Wildcats go into the bout with a record of 5-5. White River Valley won 56-24 in their recent league bout against Woodstock (Woodstock, VT)

Next up, the Wasps clash with the White River Valley Wildcats (Royalton, VT) in a CVL bout, on Monday, January 22. Woodstock will attempt to upgrade on its 2-8 season record. The Wildcats go into the bout with a 4-5 record after their 67-49 non-league win over Leland & Gray (Townshend, VT).
