Pleasant Grove Spartans (Pleasant Grove, AL) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting John Carroll Catholic Cavaliers (Birmingham, AL), 84-44 in a league bout.

With the win, Pleasant Grove upgrades its record to 15-7 on the season. The Spartans travel to Fairfield (Fairfield, AL) to clash with the Tigers in a 5A Area 9 bout on Tuesday, January 23. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 4-13. Fairfield lost 58-37 in their recent league bout against Wenonah (Birmingham, AL)

Next up, the Cavaliers clash with the Wenonah Dragons (Birmingham, AL) in a 5A Area 9 bout, on Tuesday, January 23. John Carroll Catholic will attempt to upgrade on its 12-10 season record. The Dragons go into the bout with a 21-6 record after their 58-37 league win over Fairfield (Fairfield, AL).
