Maui Sabers (Kahului, HI) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Kamehameha Maui Warriors (Pukalani, HI), 35-28 in a league bout.

With the win, Maui upgrades its record to 8-7 on the season. The Sabers travel to King Kekaulike (Pukalani, HI) to play the Na Ali'i in a Maui I bout on Tuesday, January 23. The Na Ali'i go into the bout with a record of 2-8. King Kekaulike won 51-50 in their recent league bout against Baldwin (Wailuku, HI)

Next up, the Warriors play the Baldwin Bears (Wailuku, HI) in a Maui I bout, on Friday, January 26. Kamehameha Maui will attempt to upgrade on its 8-4 season record. The Bears enter the game with a 2-10 record after their 57-12 league loss to Lahainaluna (Lahaina, HI).
