Mt. Zion Bulldogs (Jonesboro, GA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Lovett Lions (Atlanta, GA), 47-44 in a league bout.

With the win, Mt. Zion upgrades its record to 7-9 on the season. The Bulldogs travel to Stockbridge (Stockbridge, GA) to play the Tigers in a AAAA Region 5 bout on Tuesday, January 23. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 14-6. Stockbridge won 72-34 in their recent league bout against Woodland (Stockbridge, GA)

Next up, the Lions play the McDonough Warhawks (McDonough, GA) in a AAAA Region 5 bout, on Tuesday, January 23. Lovett will attempt to upgrade on its 0-17 season record. The Warhawks go into the bout with a 8-12 record after their 56-42 league loss to Pace Academy (Atlanta, GA).
