The Midlothian Panthers basketball team scored 38 points and restricted the host Seguin Cougars to 23 in the Panthers league victory on Friday.

The Panthers now sport a 5-22 record. They put it on the line next when they host Cleburne for a 5A Region I District 8 contest on Tuesday, January 23. Midlothian will battle a Yellowjackets team coming off a 45-43 league loss to Joshua (Joshua, TX). The Yellowjackets record now stands at 13-13.

The Cougars (3-16) will now prepare for their contest against Burleson (Burleson, TX). The Elks come into the 5A Region I District 8 contest with a 12-11 record. In their last contest, Burleson was defeated by Mansfield Timberview (Arlington, TX), 68-31, in a league contest.
