The Murphy Panthers (Mobile, AL) basketball nipped the visiting Saraland Spartans (Saraland, AL), 37-31 in Friday's league test.

The Panthers (8-13) will now prepare for their test against Theodore (Theodore, AL). The Bobcats go into the 6A Area 1 test with a 14-11 record. In their last test, Theodore got by Baker (Mobile, AL), 67-40, in a non-league test.

The Spartans now own a 10-13 record. They play next when they host Blount for a 6A Area 1 test on Monday, January 22. Saraland will encounter a Leopards squad coming off a 55-27 non-league win over Hillcrest (Evergreen, AL). The Leopards record now stands at 16-10.
