The Pine Tree Pirates basketball team (Longview, TX), was toppled 62-49 in Friday's league battle with the visiting Texas Tigers (Texarkana, TX)
The Tigers now possess a 13-8 record. They put it on the line next when they host Marshall for a 5A Region II District 15 battle on Tuesday, January 23. Texas will confront a Mavericks team coming off a 52-42 league loss to Mt. Pleasant (Mt. Pleasant, TX). The Mavericks record now stands at 6-18.
The Pirates (11-13) will now prepare for their battle against Longview (Longview, TX). The Lobos come into the 5A Region II District 15 battle with a 19-6 record. In their last battle, Longview beat Hallsville (Hallsville, TX), 41-37, in a league battle.
