Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Verrado Vipers (Buckeye, AZ) and the visiting Westview Knights (Avondale, AZ), saw Verrado's basketball squad hold off Westview by a tally of 49-47.

With the victory, Verrado improves its record to 4-7 on the campaign. The Vipers travel to Canyon View (Waddell, AZ) to confront the Jaguars in a 5A Desert West challenge on Monday, January 22. The Jaguars come into the challenge with a record of 15-3. Canyon View won 46-25 in their recent league challenge against Desert Edge (Goodyear, AZ)

Next up, the Knights confront the Canyon View Jaguars (Waddell, AZ) in a 5A Desert West challenge, on Tuesday, January 30. Westview will attempt to improve on its 5-10 season record.
