Welsh Greyhounds (Welsh, LA) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Vinton Lions (Vinton, LA), 45-40 in a league bout.

With the victory, Welsh upgrades its record to 5-21 on the campaign. The Greyhounds travel to Eunice (Eunice, LA) to play the Bobcats in a non-league bout on Monday, January 22. The Bobcats come into the bout with a record of 4-17.

Next up, the Lions play the Grand Lake Hornets (Lake Charles, LA) in a 2A District 5 bout, on Monday, January 22. Vinton will attempt to upgrade on its 3-13 season record.
