Archbishop Mitty Monarchs (San Jose, CA) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host St. Ignatius College Preparatory Wildcats (San Francisco, CA), 48-45 in a league bout.

With the victory, Archbishop Mitty upgrades its record to 14-1 on the campaign. The Monarchs host Valley Christian (San Jose, CA) to play the Warriors in a bout on Tuesday, January 23. The Warriors come into the bout with a record of 8-5. Valley Christian lost 44-24 in their recent league bout against Serra (San Mateo, CA)

Next up, the Wildcats play the Serra Padres (San Mateo, CA) in a bout, on Tuesday, January 23. St. Ignatius College Preparatory will attempt to upgrade on its 3-3 season record. The Padres come into the bout with a 14-3 record after their 44-24 league win over Valley Christian (San Jose, CA).
