East Duplin Panthers (Beulaville, NC) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Wallace-Rose Hill Bulldogs (Teachey, NC), 43-41 in a league bout.

With the win, East Duplin upgrades its record to 8-6 on the season. The Panthers host Southwest Onslow (Jacksonville, NC) to play the Stallions in a bout on Tuesday, January 23. The Stallions go into the bout with a record of 1-10. Southwest Onslow lost 40-25 in their recent league bout against James Kenan (Warsaw, NC)

Next up, the Bulldogs play the Pender Patriots (Burgaw, NC) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 20. Wallace-Rose Hill will attempt to upgrade on its 1-6 season record. The Patriots go into the bout with a 3-5 record after their 42-37 league loss to West Columbus (Cerro Gordo, NC).
