The Monte Vista Monarchs (Spring Valley, CA) basketball felled the visiting Grossmont Foothillers (El Cajon, CA), 54-46 in Friday's league test.

The Monarchs (10-8) will now prepare for their test against El Capitan (Lakeside, CA). The Vaqueros go into the test with a 14-3 record. In their last test, El Capitan thwarted Mount Miguel (Spring Valley, CA), 54-41, in a league test.

The Foothillers now own a 2-5 record. They play next when they travel to Mount Miguel for a test on Tuesday, January 30.
