In Sunday's league test, the host Ponaganset Chieftains ice hockey team scored a tight 7-1 win over the Johnston Panthers.

The Chieftains (3-2) will now prepare for their test against Chariho (Wood River Junction, RI). The Chargers enter the non-league test with a 3-2 record.

Next up, the Panthers encounter the South Kingstown Rebels (Wakefield, RI) in a Division 3 test, on Wednesday, January 5. Johnston will attempt to advance on its 0-3 season record. The Rebels enter the test with a 2-2 record after their 5-1 league loss to Coventry (Coventry, RI).
