Hurley Northstars (Hurley, WI) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Lac Courte Oreilles Eagles (Hayward, WI), 65-34 in a league bout.

With the win, Hurley upgrades its record to 5-2 on the season. The Northstars travel to Mellen (Mellen, WI) to play the Granite Diggers in a Indianhead bout on Thursday, January 5. The Granite Diggers go into the bout with a record of 3-3. Mellen lost 62-55 in their recent league bout against Drummond (Drummond, WI)

Next up, the Eagles play the Bayfield Trollers (Bayfield, WI) in a Indianhead bout, on Thursday, January 5. Lac Courte Oreilles will attempt to upgrade on its 1-5 season record. The Trollers go into the bout with a 2-5 record after their 58-54 league win over South Shore (Port Wing, WI).
